Our Best Selling HEPA Air Purifier For Dust Allergy & Asthma Control Including The Ability To Kill Airborne Viruses, Bacteria And Mold SporesTHE TECHNOLOGY IN TRACS HEPA AIR PURIFIERS Activated Carbon Pre-filter Packs: Air cleaners require a pre-filter to filter out larger dust and particulate and protect the more expensive HEPA filter. Activated Carbon acts like a sponge to adsorb harmful odors, chemicals, gases, and VOCs, and once saturated carbon can actually expel these trapped contaminants. With this in mind, Pyramid Air Solutions designed their Carbon Pre-filter Packs to stay at peak efficiency to remove harmful contaminants throughout the year. By combining the 3 ½ activated carbon/zeolite odor removal and pre-filter functions into one reasonably priced filter, you can change the Carbon Pre-filter Pack regularly (every 3-6 months) and maintain optimum odor/chemical removal efficiency and HEPA protection. Every TRACS unit comes with a typical year’s supply (3) of Carbon Pre-filter Packs. High Dosage Ultraviolet (UV) Lamps: TRACS utilizes two non-ozone producing hospital grade UV lamps located in a highly reflective UV kill chamber that continually shines on the dirty side of the HEPA filter (this is the side of the HEPA filter that the particulate and biological contaminants are trapped on). UV radiation has been proven to deactivate and destroy airborne and landed microorganisms, including molds, bacteria, and viruses. Part of the TRACS patent is the location of UV Lamps, as they destroy all microorganisms trapped on the intake side of the HEPA filter. This is very important and it is a key feature because HEPA filters left untreated by Ultraviolet Light can lead to premature HEPA filter replacement due to biological contamination of the HEPA media itself, as trapped molds can continue to grow on the HEPA. But because of the location of the UV lamps, the HEPA filter in the TRACS HEPA air cleaner can last up to six years. Because of the TRACS unique patent design it is very important to know that other brands of HEPA air purifiers that include UV Lamps are not designed like the TRACS! Other brands of air purifiers with UV Lamps cannot kill viruses, bacteria and mold spores in the HEPA filter by shining the lamps on the outside of the HEPA filter! Certified HEPA Filters: TRACS has a hospital grade HEPA filter, meaning it is individually scanned and certified by the filter manufacturer to be no less than 99.99% efficient at .3 microns. Many units use HEPA-type filters that may have HEPA media but the media is not sealed within the filter frame so the overall efficiency of the HEPA is much less; and they try to mask these inefficiencies by brand naming their filters with the word “HEPA” in it. However, unless a HEPA is individually scanned and certified, it is not a hospital grade HEPA filter and will not work at the same efficiency. Furthermore, the HEPA in TRACS is mechanically sealed within the cabinet to prevent any air bypass so that all air in the unit must go through the HEPA filter, allowing the unit to always run at full HEPA efficiency. This is why all TRACS units are tested and certified by Pyramid Air Solutions prior to shipment to show zero particles .3 microns and higher coming out of the unit, and a Performance Certificate showing the test results comes with every unit. Unit Highlights The HEPA and Carbon filters are independent of each other: The carbon and HEPA are separate filters in TRACS because carbon saturates (adsorbs as many odors, chemicals, and gases that it can) much more quickly than a HEPA filter becomes clogged with particulate. And even if larger amounts of carbon were used in a HEPA filter (10-15 lbs), carbon filters will usually saturate within at least a year, if not sooner, especially if there are unexpected spills or environmental changes (painting a room, refinishing a floor, etc..). Carbon acts like a sponge in adsorbing odors, chemicals and gases, and once the carbon saturates is can actually outgas trapped odors, so fresh carbon should be used at all times. And by having separate carbon and HEPA filters, consumers will not need to pay to replace both the HEPA and carbon when only the carbon needs be replaced, greatly reducing maintenance costs for the life of the air cleaner. Quiet Operation: Four-speed blower lets you set air speed/noise levels to appropriate levels in different room sizes. “Whisp-Air” setting offers virtual silent operation while still removing 99.99% at .3 microns of airborne particulates. Micro-Processing Keypad Controls: A state of the art micro-processing touchpad control system monitors each UV lamp and the filters and lets you know when they need to be replaced. Unlike most air cleaners, the filter change recommendations are based on a differential pressure switch that measures actual particulate loading on the filters, not a timer. The keypad also controls air flow and power to the UV lamps. Very Low Maintenance Costs: When changed regularly the cumulative annual amount of “fresh” activated carbon will equal or exceed that of most other residential/commercial HEPA air cleaners/ air purifier units that include activated carbon. But because the carbon pack also acts as the pre-filter, (and they are priced as standard pre-filters despite their significant carbon content), annual maintenance costs are considerably less expensive than units having pre-filters/post-filters and separate carbon filters. Furthermore, the cost savings is much more against units having combined HEPA and Carbon filters, because in a year when the carbon saturates you also need to pay to replace the almost unused HEPA filter. Furthermore, the location of the UV lamps prevents premature contamination of the HEPA filter, effectively extending its life span up to six years, saving considerable maintenance costs. In all, the replacement parts used in TRACS are priced well below market value (and much less than competitor’s units) to encourage regular maintenance and optimize unit efficiency and effectiveness. Easy Maintenance: The HEPA filter and Carbon Pre-filter Packs in TRACS are accessed via a back panel held on by two thumb knurl screws, so no tools or unit manipulation (turning upside down, pulling parts off, etc.) are required. Superior Contaminant Removal Airflow Pattern: Besides technology used, airflow pattern is the most important attribute of any air cleaner. For if you are not collecting dirty air from throughout the room and replacing it with clean air, the overall effectiveness of the unit is compromised. TRACS takes a simplified approach at eliminating airborne contaminants by virtually “vacuuming” them out of the air. Air is drawn in from the upper end of the cabinet from three different sides, taking in air from the normal breathing zone of 3 to 6 feet. After going through its four stage of filtration, clean air is then exhausted out of the bottom front of the unit at an upward angle at a high enough velocity to effectively redistribute the air throughout the room to keep it clean for top quality dust, allergy and asthma control in your home or office.
